Just as you have you problems with believers, we also have our problems with no believers.

Personally i hate people who push religion upon others. i cringe to think about a saved christian going up to an antiest and attempting to prove them wrong about creation or attempting to save them. Bottom line there is no solid evidence of how we got here. IMO someone created us. its hard to believe we have evolved over time from a cell eventually combining into another cell and so on. Exactly how did those cells even form and get put on the Earth anyway? Also something to think about is just how perfect Earth really is. It is the perfect distance away from the sun to give us the perfect temperature to live. Any other planet is about to cold. It is the only planet with an oxygen atmosphere. Clean drinking water and so on.

My only complaint about non believers is they ALL think they are much much more intelligent and simply a better person than the believers since they have made this huge stand and say they do not believe in creation. Im not here to judge on Earth thats for sure so if thats how you believe then im not going to change your mind by drilling you with religion.

Both believers and non believers have their pros and cons though.

hmmm, R13 do you go parading around that you are an athiest and that God is bullshit and that you hate christians? if not then i highly doubt people randomly walk up to you and say you are going to hell why do you hate God, sounds to me like you bring this on yourself.

1) I'm not an atheist. 2) I never say God is bullshit. 3) I don't hate Christians no matter how many times some of you say it. and 4) It's not "parading" if someone is open about their beliefs. So no, I don't do that. But I never said anyone randomly walks up to you and blasts you. Try explaining it to your family, try openly saying it at your employment, don't bow your head during a prayer or at a public gathering etc. You really don't have a clue how you're looked at or treated, none at all. I'd never hear the end of it if I just said what you did about Christians and bringing it on their self, being any minority in this country is hell, easy to sit back say something like that when you don't know how others are treated. I'm open about my beliefs, most Christians are far more open with their from the bumper stickers on their car, to a cross around their neck, to how they act...is that "parading it around". But if a non-believer wore a shirt or had a bumper sticker(just examples) that said "there is no god", they're just starting trouble and drawing attention. Like I said, people don't have a clue.

If everyone else is bowing their head in prayer then they wouldn't see you not bowing yours.

Most people don't stare at the floor, they tilt their head and stare around the room making sure everyone else is doing it. Sort of like that big uproar with the kid "exposing" himself at that game, when their eyes where supposed to be elsewhere. People will take notice and go as far as complaining to someone about it, happened several times at dinners during the campaign. I don't recite the pledge either, I got a lot of bitching from uptight people directly and indirectly for the bowing of the head thing more than anything.

I'm not saying anything about you not praying. Obviously those that are staring and looking around to see who isn't praying aren't doing what they are supposed to be doing. I know people that do that and it frustrates me especially when the preacher asks you to raise your hand and/or give an alter call.

Personally i think the "bowing of the head" is a respect thing. Granted Christians bow their head to show respect you R13 dont have to simply bc you dont believe in him. Still you can easily conform to not make a scene by simply looking at your feet if there is a prayer or maybe about 8 feet in front of you at the ground. A lot of the instance you jus describe was brought upon yourself bc you are trying to be different and "stand up" for your beliefs. While you are standing up for your beliefs by not bowing your head, Christians are "sticking up" for their god by saying something t you. It goes both ways i think

Perfect example of what I've been talking about.

1) No one is trying to cause a scene, THEY are causing the seen by getting up in arms about it. I am not disturbing anyone, we both know that, so do they.

2) Sorry, I actually am not willing to "conform" which means in this case selling out my beliefs and principles to appease some insecure small minded people.

3) Like I've said several times, we're not trying to cause a seen and to "be different", whatever that means because that's assuming Christians are normal and everyone else is abnormal.

4) We're not the problem, I did nothing wrong, so why should do anything different? How about they do what I've been saying and mind their own business and stop trying to dictate other peoples lives, guess that's too hard to manage huh?

Like I said, prime example of the mindset I'm talking about, another reason why I could never participate in an institution like that that warps logic and reason so bad and that's only a tiny, tiny example of it. Can only hope that the trend keeps continuing and Christianity rates continue to fall here while non-believers rise and rise so these kinds of things improve. We've come a long way as a nation, but in a lot of areas and with a lot of minority groups, they're treated as low as low gets for no reason - just because people can't think for themselves and don't know how to deal with others that are different from their own.

Just curious but if you do not agree with prayer why are you even in the same area that one is being said? You know if there was some satanic worshiping going on i would wanna jump in the middle and "mind my own business". If it is at a table and people want to say grace why not excuse yourself to the bathroom or if it is at a ballgame go to a less populated area.

All i am saying is try to avert a situation at all cost. Whether it is a Christian in the middle of a Satanic ritual or a non believer in the middle of believers. As a human you should try to avert a situation. It is common sense.
